Questions about the certificate

Who can obtain this certificate?

Official consular guidance lists Georgian citizens and stateless persons with status in Georgia. If you hold another citizenship, we first check which document is available for your case; we do not promise this certificate to all foreign nationals.

What is the official document?

It is a certificate of the absence of impediments to marriage, often called a single status certificate. Confirm the exact document required with the authority registering your marriage before ordering.

Do I need to travel to Georgia?

Our service uses a representative acting under a notarised power of attorney. We first check your circumstances and the requirements in the country where you will sign it.

What if I have been married before?

Tell us when you first contact us. A divorce certificate, a former spouse’s death certificate or another document confirming the end of the previous marriage may be required.

Are document photos enough?

Copies help with the initial review. They do not replace documents required for the application; we agree which originals are needed and how to send them.

Will I need an apostille or translation?

This depends on the destination country and recipient. Share their requirements so we can agree the preparation. Apostille, translation, translation certification and consular legalisation cost extra.

How long is the certificate valid?

Ask the marriage registration authority how recently the certificate must have been issued. Agree your submission date before ordering, allowing time for processing and international delivery.
